Hey all.. Hope you all are having great day. Who doesn’t love to flaunt their silky smooth hair every day. But in winter it is really tough to maintain our hair. During the winter months, cold outside weather combined with dry indoor heat can wreak havoc on your strands, leading to split ends and breakage. Winter welcomes dry and brittle hair with it. In winter we must take atmost care of our hair in order to maintain it healthy. So here are my suggestions to maintain healthy mane.

HOT OIL TREATMENT

You girls might have read it billion times over the internet but trust me girls this tip is gonna be your life savior especially if you have dry hair. I have extremely dry and frizzy hair that is often prone to split ends. Initially I didn’t believe in hot oil massaging, but later I Incorporated it in my hair care routine and it made huge difference in my hair texture. I’m following this for some months now and my hair is less frizzy and it is less prone to split ends.

Take some hair oil in a bowl. You can use coconut oil or olive oil or any oil that suits you. But stay away from hair oils with mineral oil since they won’t nourish your hair. Warm it up using double boiler method and then massage the warm oil all over you scalp and apply some oil to your hair ends. Now leave it for about atleast 30 minutes. You can also leave it for overnight also. Then wash your hair with shampoo that suits you.

DEEP CONDITIONING

You must deep condition your hair to lock in moisture during winter. You can use store bought deep conditioners but I prefer using home made one.
Take 1 fully ripe banana. Now add honey and curd to it. Blend it well in a blender. Your hair mask is ready to use.
Apply this all over your hair length if you use neem mask on your scalp. It you don’t use neem mask then you can apply this all over hair and scalp and leave it for about 30 minutes and then wash it with cold water and shampoo.
You can use any weekly treatment depending upon your hair concern.

CUT OFF HEAT STYLING

Heat tools are your enemy during winter. It just worsens your hair condition. The heat from heat tools makes your hair drier day by day. In winter your already dry hair will just break if you use your flat iron or curler. Even if you use blow drier try to use it in medium to low heat.

USE SILK PILLOW CASE AND SAY BYE TO SPLIT ENDS

The normal cotton pillow cover strips moisture from your hair strands and make it frizzy the very next day. It also leads to split ends. So use silk pillow cover in order to reduce frizz and split ends. Silk pillow cover doesn’t strip moisture from hair and thus it reduces chances for split ends and frizzy hair.

This you might have heard this million times. But this is actually important. It might be tempting to have a hot shower in winter but it will dry your hair and skin in this winter. So try to take warm or cold shower to minimize dryness in your hair.
