Wedding bells- part 2- Bridal hair care tips

haircare tips for the brides to be

Indian bridal hairstyles generally require the bride to wear her hair long. If you are getting married in six months time, you can start prepping up now in order to have shiny and luxurious tresses that will truly be your crowning glory on your special day. Here are a few bridal hair care tips.,

I didn’t give a damn about hair care routine, until my pre wed shoot. My Hair stylist used hair extension in order to make my hair look voluminous. I’m someone who had dense hair throughout my life until I hit my 12th grade. So I decided to follow a hair care routine that will help me to regrow lost hair. I decided not to use any hair extensions on my wedding to fake dense hair. I just used an extension only on my Muhurtham to mimic Long hair and not dense hair (Typical south Indian hair do).

AVOID HEAT TREATMENTS

Damage due yo heat tools are real. I used to hate my wavy hair and used straightener every now and then. The result is hair fall accompanied with dry frizzy hair. If your hair is heat damaged, this nourish you hair strands and scalp with hair masks every week and avoid heat tools or at least reduce the frequency of using heat tools.

I would suggest using Avo coco hair mask shared on my blog to nourish heat damaged hair. Click here to read about the hair mask.

GIVE YOURSELF HOT OIL TREATMENT

Massaging warm oil into the scalp helps open the pores and facilitates better oil absorption. Regular oil massages help reverse the damaging effects of chemical and other hair treatments, boost blood circulation, strengthens roots, and promotes hair growth. It strengthens the hair shaft and helps distribute the natural scalp oils down to rest of the hair , this adds luster and shiny to your hair and protect it from breakage and split ends.

Hot oil massage removes any toxins that may have accumulate in the scalp by increasing the lymphatic flow. It activates the dormant hair follicles to promote new growth. When the massage is done using oil such as jojoba, almond, sesame, olive, coconut, and castor, it moisturizes and conditions the scalp. This help you avoid dry flaky scalp and dandruff.

USE A SATIN PILLOW CASE

If you want the texture of your hair to improve, then it would be a good idea to invest in a satin pillow case. In comparison to the rough ones, this soft fabric causes lesser friction between your hair strands and the pillow. Hence, it prevents damage caused to the hair due to heat. In addition, make sure you keep changing them on a frequent basis, preferably twice a week.
